Where to eat in Iasi - restaurants & cafes
The selection of the restaurants/ cafes below should be regarded as a personal point of view based on experience we had while visiting these places.
They do represent circumstantial services and do not represent guarantees offered in connection with any of the restaurants/cafes in Iasi that are below:
Tosca
Located besides National Theatre
Great Pasta, Great Pizza, Great location, lovely crowd inside J
The Manhattan Café
Located in: Tudor Students Campus behind T15.
If you are in for a good meal (international selection), a good cocktail and a chilled atmosphere – that’s the spot for you.
We personally liked it and the staff is really attentive and (surprise) smiling…which is quite rare.
Bear in mind that if you drive, you will be frustrated since after dinner they do a digestive “on the house”. Lovely stuff.
Kitchen: 4 ½ * out of 5
Staff: 4* out of 5 (only if the bartender did not smoke behind the bar)
Cleanliness: 5* out of 5
Atmosphere: Brilliant, there’s no-one staring at you, music is good and in tone with the time of the day.
What not to miss here: Chillaquilles, Bruschetti, the “digestive”.
Pizza Pazzo
Located in Tudor Students Campus- opposite the Bus Stop in front of T17.
Busy and Crowded pizza place and if you’re lucky, every other day you’ll get it right.
When you will, here are a few tips:
Otherwise, pizza is good (one of the best in town ).
Kitchen: 4 * out of 5 ( in the good days )
Satff: pass.
Cleanliness: 2 out of 5 ( based on the loo’s )
Atmosphere: nothing out of the ordinary.
What not to miss: The pizza (I told you- it’s one of the best in town).
Mario Ristorante
Located: In the residential area of Copou, with view over a piece (small) of the Botanical Garden and a nice Panorama
Quiet and peaceful Restaurant with terrace and food never goes wrong here. Neither the service: well trained staff that does the job naturally.
Mario is the place where you will see people that came in for a treat, away from the crowd. Food pricing makes it prohibitive sometimes but do expect every inch of it to be worth it.
Pasta is lovely, soups are lovely and deserts are nice and all well presented.
Mario is a favorite: if you want to impress, go there. If you are what you eat, go there. If you are in for a treat, that’s your place.
